UW-Platteville's track and field teams will have a slightly different look in 2009, said Coach Jim Nickasch on Monday, the first day of practice.

"We have a lot of young kids, with 95 guys trying out and 53 women," he said. "If everything comes together, it looks pretty good on paper, even though we won't have people like Marcia (Taddy) and Tyler (Sigl) anymore. We'll probably be a little deeper in events we haven't been in a while."

The eighth-year coach is happy with how his teams reported to practices.

"The kids have been running and training pretty hard," he said.
