UWP Softball
Tera Burr is an all-American
February 5, 2009

UW-Platteville's Tera Burr earned first team preseason all-American honors by the new Division III Softball - The Newsletter.

Burr, a senior second baseman from Shawano, is a three-time all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and two-time all-Great Lakes Region player. She already holds Pioneer career marks for batting average (.441), home runs (21) and doubles (32) and is closing in on most every other UWP all-time record.

A civil engineering major, Burr is also an academic all-region selection.

"It's very exciting for her," Pioneer Coach Heather Townsend said. "It shows what hard work can do. You have to want it. In Division III, you're playing for pride and for the love of the game. And Tera has those things."

The Pioneers begin their season this Friday (Feb. 6) facing Mount Mercy in an 8 p.m. doubleheader at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
