Former UW-Platteville football Standouts Tom Stetzer and Reggie Davis are making waves indoors for the Wisconsin Wolfpack of the Continental Indoor Football League.

The CIFL is a pro indoor league on par with the likes of afl2, while the Wolfpack is an expansion team based out of Madison.

Stetzer, who still holds numerous passing records at Platteville, currently lives in Madison and works as a Civil Engineer for Strand Associates. He is no stranger to the game of indoor football after two standout season playing for the Reading (PA) Express of the AIFA. With both Tom and the Wolfpack in Madison the match only made sense. Tom grabbed onto the starting QB spot in pre-season and didn’t let go, he has cemented himself as the team leader and backup up his words with a 5 touchdown performance in the Wolfpack’s season opening victory over the Rock River Raptors, his fifth and final touchdown came with no time on the clock to give the Wolfpack the 40-38 victory. Stetzer efforts in the first game were good enough to have him named the CIFL Offensive Player of the Week for Week One.

UWP football
Receiver Reggie Davis

Madison native and former 4-year starter for the Pioneers Reggie Davis is also starting for the Wolfpack. The Madison East graduate played for the CIFL’s Milwaukee Bonecrushers for a part of the 2008 season and has been a standout for the semi-pro Madison Mustangs since 2005. Davis relished the idea of being able to play in Madison and joined up with the Wolfpack at a tryout in January. Reggie quickly rose up the depth charts at WR and started the first game hauling in 3 catches for 41 yards.

Look for the old Pioneer Stetzer to Davis connection to continue for the Wolfpack. The Wolfpack opens their home season on March 21st against the Chicago Slaughter.
