Jessica Scott ran to third place to lead UW-Platteville at the high-powered Tori Neubaeur Invitational Saturday in La Crosse.

Scott, the reigning WIAC runner of the week, completed the 6,000-meter race in 21:39, just one second shy of her personal best and also one second behind Wartburg winner Anna Kraayenbrink.

The Pioneers were 11th of 25 teams. South Dakota State edged the Minnesota Gophers for the team title, 81-82.

The 22nd-ranked UWP men ran to a strong sixth-place finish in the Jim Drews Invitational. The host Eagles beat the Wisconsin Badgers 86-163 for the team title. The Pioneers finished with 198 points.

Nathan Petesch led the Pioneer scorers by finishing 19th on the 8K course in 25:37. Patrick Klein was 29th in 25:59, Tony Kilburg 41st in 26:10, Matt Hoefs 52nd in 26:18, and Joshua Melby, 57th in 26:24.

For the women, ranked seventh in this week's Midwest Region poll, Ann Tank was 62nd in 23:19, Alli Tank 64th, also in 23:19, Emma Dreis, 83rd in 23:51, and Trista Baye, Trista Baye 116th in 24:26.
