Molli Springer and Curtis Bendorf paced abbreviated UW-Platteville teams at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational Friday, held at the Whitetail Gof Course in Colfax.
Springer placed 42nd in 24:36 to lead the women, who were 14th of 16 teams. The University of Minnesota won the meet. Nikki Schoenbeck was 91st in 26:15, Steph Dorton, 92nd in 26:26, Kirsten Recupero, 97th in 27:30, and Jamie Burlison, 99th in 27:57.
Bendorf raced to a 83rd-place finish in 27:24, followed by freshmen Mike Borden, 92nd in 27:36; Anthony Swimm, 96th in 27:46, Derek Foiles, 110th in 28:13, and Craig Sweney, 112th in 28:19. The Pioneers were 18th of 19 teams in a meet won my St. Thomas.
The full Pioneer squads will be back in action Saturday at the Wartburg Invitational.
