Jessica Scott qualified for the NCAA Division III national championships for the second straight year after placing eighth at the Midwest Regional Saturday.

Scott, sixth in last year's regional, covered the 6,000-meter course at the Saukie Golf Course, Rock Island, Ill. in 22:02.

The Pioneer men were eighth and the UWP women 10th. The top two teams and seven individuals not on those teams automatically earned berths into the national championship. At-large teams will be added to the field Monday.

Also for the women, Ann Tank earned all-region with a 30th place finish and a time of 22:54. Also Alli Tank came in with a time of 23:48, giving her a 70th place finish. Next, was Lacey Curtis with a 91st place finish along with a 24:12 time in the race.

Next, was Trista Baye with a time of 24:29 and a 106th finishing spot. Finally, was Emily Flood ran to a 156th place finish and a time of 25:24.

Nathan Petesch led the men with a 29th-place finish in 25:29 over 8,000 meters to earn all-region honors. He was followed by Tony Kilburg, 52nd in 26:07; Shane Lacy, 60th in 26:12; Tim Dahms, 66th in 26:19; Matt Hoefs, 67th in 26:20; Joshua Melby, 89th in 26:51; and Greg Alleman, 102nd in 27:02.

The NCAA III championships are next Saturday in Hanover, Ind.
