Both the UW-Platteville men's and women's cross country teams, as well as six Pioneer individuals, earned recognition on the 2008 NCAA Division III United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams.

For a school to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, the team must have competed and compiled a score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average. The Pioneer men had a 3.37 cumulative grade-point average, highest among all WIAC teams, and the women compiled a 3.13.

One-hundred and three men's teams and 156 women's squads earned the team recognition.

To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at the respective NCAA regional meet.
