UW-Platteville maintained its hold at fourth place nationally in the D3hoops.com men's basketball poll, as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference put three teams in the top five.

Undefeated St. Thomas (19-0) is number one, followed by defending national champion Wash U. (17-1) and then UW-Stevens Point (17-2), UW-Platteville (18-2) and UW-Whitewater (17-3).

The Pioneers are 18-2 overall and 10-1 in the WIAC, one-half game behind UW-Stevens Point (10-0 in WIAC) and one game ahead of UW-Whitewater (9-2).

UWP plays host to UW-La Crosse Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Bo Ryan Court. Coach Paul Combs will be seeking his 99th victory as the Pioneer Coach. In his sixth season, Combs is 98-52. Counting his four years at Lakeland, he has a career record of 158-97.

A hot-dog eating contest is also set for Wednesday's halftime. Fourteen individuals have signed up to try and win prizes for their respective groups by being the first to finish off six hot dogs.
