For the first time in school history, two UW-Platteville players earned all-NCAA III Midwest Region Honors in the same season.

Pitcher Joe Lange is a first team honoree by the American Baseball Coaches Association, and second baseman Jason Jacobson is a second-team selection.

Lange, a senior from East Dubuque, Ill., was the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year. The left-hander compiled a 3.86 ERA and threw five complete games. He ranked 22nd in NCAA III with 85 strikeouts and 35th in fewest walks allowed with 14 in 91 innings. He is the first Pioneer to earn first-team honors since pitcher Andy Burt in 1993.

Jacobson, a junior from Caledonia (Racine Case), hit .364 and scored the third-most runs in Pioneer history with 43. He set a new UWP single-game mark with six hits vs. UW-Stout April 14 and tied another with five runs scored against Wisconsin Lutheran April 18. He was a first team all-WIAC selection as well.

The Pioneers were 21-19 under Coach Eric Frese.
