UWP’s Heartland Festival welcomes ‘You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown’

PLATTEVILLE — The Heartland Festival, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Center for the Arts, welcomes, “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” to the lineup, premiering on June 19.

“You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” opened on Broadway in 1999. It is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic, based on the ever-popular Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz. Heartland will present the updated 1999 revival version where Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Snoopy. New songs have been added to the original version as well.

The cast for “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” includes Jason Slattery from Berea, Ohio; Kelsey Klug from Sun Prairie; Alexander Mersman from Naperville, Ill.; James Hansen of Waunakee; Sean Hanson from Omaha, Neb.; and Jillian Kates from Berea, Ohio.

Performances will be held on June 19, July 5, 21, 29 and Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m., June 20, 27, July 11, 25 and Aug. 2 and 8 at 2 p.m. and July 18 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $9 for UWP students with a valid ID and individuals under the age of 18. Tickets are available through the University Box Office at (608) 342-1298 or tickets.uwplatt.edu “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” will be held in the Theatre located in the Center for the Arts on the UWP campus.
