With a CD that went Platinum and reached number four on the Billboard World Music Charts, the Leahy family is a Canadian triple-threat of fiddle-driven music, dance, and vocals augmented by keyboards and percussion. Their music combines the influence of their Irish and Scottish roots with new sounds from a variety of musical genres and instruments encountered during their tours in Canada, the United States and Europe. This long period of touring success was notably captured in a student documentary entitled “The Leahys: Music Most of All,” a film which won an Academy Award in 1985 for Best Student Foreign Film.
