UW-Platteville Octubaween 2013

Thursday, October 31, 2013 -
7:30pm to 9:00pm
Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall, Center for the Arts

“UW-Platteville Octubaween!”  is a Music Department event that will feature performances by the newly founded Pioneer Low Brass Ensemble, several low brass student soloists, a student tuba/euphonium quartet and a student brass quintet.  This roughly hour-long concert will be held in the fashion of the quickly growing trend called “Classical Revolution,” where audiences are encouraged to hear music of the highest quality in a setting that is different than typical concert venues/settings.  This concert will feature performers in Halloween costumes, and the audience will be encouraged to attend wearing costumes as well.  The musical selections are themed around Halloween, and are sure to delight and entertain while also showcasing the outstanding abilities of the students here at UW-Platteville.  In addition, there will be Halloween candy available after the concert for any children/students who would wish to attend.  This concert will provide a safe and enriching alternative to late-night trick-or-treating, and will be free and open to the public.
