Biennial Reviews

As an institution of higher education, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville recognizes the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 and Drug-Free Schools and Community Act of 1986 and Amendments of 1989. The Drug Free Workplace Act applies to both employees and students of this institution and requires UW-Platteville to certify that as a federal grantee it will provide a drug-free workplace.

The Drug-Free Schools and Campus Regulations (EDGAR Part 86) holds all institutions receiving federal financial assistance to adopt and implement a program to prevent the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students.

To ensure compliance campuses are required to complete a biennial review of their Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) programming and policies to determine effectiveness and the consistency of sanction enforcement.
