New Transfer students entering UW-Platteville have the opportunity to register for courses along with the continuing students during Advance Registration each semester. For example, transfer students entering UWP in the Fall semester can register during Advance Registration in April; transfer students entering UWP in the Spring semester can register during Advance Registration in November.
New transfer students can also register at anytime following Advance Registration. They are not required to participate in the New Student Registration programs held over the summer for new freshmen students.
New transfer students must first receive a letter of invitation to register, which is sent from the UWP Admissions Office. This letter will indicate that the "students" application and transcripts have been fully processed and clearance to register for courses has been granted. Along with this letter of invitation, students are sent a list of Department Chairs to contact to set up an advising appointment.
