Seeing UWP through a different lens

Taking photos for the UWP student newspaper, the Exponent, has taught me to see the college from all differen angles. My favorite aspect of photography is capturing students in action, as they participate in the many activities UWP has to offer. I didn't have a lot of experience in photography prior to the Exponent but now have knowledge I can apply to my major in imaging media and minors in art and journalism. Photography is a perfect way to "focus" my time.

Finding a Forte

I assisted in starting the UWP Fencing Club back up last year. It disbanded several years ago. I enjoy the Fencing Club because of the fellowship we have between our members, and the sport itself. The Fencing Club is a great way to exercise and learn something new along the way. It's one of the unique clubs that UWP offers to students and it's something different to participate in. Fencing teaches us balance, endurance and agility. The members show a great deal of camaraderie towards one another and we are always looking to expand. Everyone in the group is very open and welcoming. By holding an officer position and helping to start the club, I have learned a lot about responsibility, leadership and organization. Touche!

Pioneering my own path

Attending college is a way to start fresh by expanding knowledge, interests and activities. The faculty and staff here are extremely supportive and have pushed me to reach my full potential. I now go out of my zone to try new things and have learned not to be afraid of a challenge. UWP has allowed me to be involved in a plethora of activities. Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Swing Club and Clay Club are always keeping me busy. Through these activities, I have pioneered my own pathe here at UWP and nothing keeps me from challenging myself to new limits.
