I would say that UWP has quite a few outstanding academic programs that are offered on campus including the engineering and business administration undergraduate programs and counseling graduate program. Due to small class sizes, I am able to get extra help from my professors and more importantly, there are many tutoring programs available to me. As I continue to pursue my undergraduate degree as a non-traditional student I appreciate these programs and resources that UWP offers us to succeed.
Two years ago, my husband and I decided to come back to school to continue our education. As a mother of four beautiful children this was a very difficult decision. I wanted to attend a school where I could get a good education, but one that was also located in a nice area where I could continue to raise my family. UWP seemed to be a perfect fit. Being a parent and a student is a very time consuming task but UWP makes the experience totally worth it. My husband and I hope to improve our lifestyle by getting an education. I really value my education and have now realized how important it is to me. Even though I have a family, my husband I volunteer to help student organizations and I have gotten involved in student governance. I am currently a commissioner of the Segregated University Fee Allocation Commission as the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture representative.
Homecoming is a fun and festive time at UWP. I especially love the Homecoming parade at the end of the week. It is wonderful to see the whole community and the student body celebrating with the university. In previous years, my son was able to be part of the parade. UWP always has many activities and events that I am able to do with my family.
