Savion Kirk chose UWP because of its excellent education program and the fact that the TSI program made it possible for him to pay out of state tuition. As an education major, he appreciates the fact that UWP allows him to get career experience early. During his freshman year, he observed different elementary classrooms and got a taste of teaching before going further in the education program.

"With open discussions and ample opportunities to work with classmates, it's easy to make friends. I spend a lot of my time outside of class with friends; I’ve also met people through involvement with intramurals, different organizations and clubs including Students Promoting Respect, being a resident assistant, and the newly formed hip-hop dance team. I really like the dance team because it gives me a chance to join my friends in expressing hip-hop and the black culture. I'm having a lot of fun."
