I wanted a small four year college in Wisconsin. One main advantage of studying communication technologies here is that students have a lot of equipment available to them. There are several Mac labs and photo printers available for use to complete projects, yet there are small class sizes so you can usually use the equipment when you want.
I have learned that getting involved is very important. Even when I am busy with school work I try to stay involved on campus through organizations like Image Media Group (IMG), which publishes a magazine called Art Arts each year. Being a part of IMG has incorporated much of the material I learned in my graphics classes. Through this project I get hands on experience in publication layout as well as selling and designing advertisements and dealing with budgets. Through my work with the group, I meet people with similar interests but also people that I may not have had much contact with otherwise. It helped me get a much more balanced and well rounded college experience.
My job at Campus Programming and Relations (CPR) is great experience for me because event planning is one area that I might like to get into after graduation. I also had an internship at Get 2 the Point, LLC. I created a website for a non-profit organization, the Living With Foundation, which was a foundation for those with neuromuscular diseases.
The most memorable moment for me would be the Emerson Drive concert. It is memorable because it was the first event I was a part of in my position in CPR. It was also great to be a part of the audience and feel the excitement of the students throughout the concert. And, though I am not usually a country music fan, I did thoroughly enjoy their music.
