Maturing While Laughing

Platteville is a smaller school and I heard that the classes were smaller in size. When I was on a visit to the campus people were talking and laughing all around, it looked like a great school, and everyone was having a good time. It just looked like fun!

Moving to Platteville was a big change. I had to grow up and live my life. I was in control without parents around, and I had to mature quickly.

If You Can Dream It Up ...

The industrial studies facilities are top quality. If you can dream it up you can make it here at Platteville. There are many Computer Numerical Control machines here including lathes, milling machines, welders and my favorite, a router that can machine a 4x8 piece of wood. I was able to create a great table, with inlays, in my basic woods course. The professors are helpful and knowledgeable to help you with any project, and they give you the freedom to do what you want, creatively.

Skiing and Snowboarding

Through the various clubs and classes I am in I have met many great people. During my freshman year I went on a weeklong trip with the Ski and Snowboarding Club to Colorado and was able to experience a whole new world of snowboarding, for dirt-cheap mind you. I also met some great friends out there that I did not even know before the trip.

Living in the Residence Halls

I would have to say my most memorable moment was living in the dorms. It was a great time to get to know new people and friends. I have made friendships in my dorm life that will last a lifetime. I would not trade that time for anything - it's what college should be.
