I chose to attend Platteville because I was told that UWP had an excellent criminal justice program. When I came to visit the campus, I felt like I belonged. Today, I love the campus and the small, friendly community that surrounds the university. The criminal justice professors are amazing and I really enjoy getting up and going to my classes. Their attitudes show that they love their jobs. There was never a question; UWP was the only college for me!
Through Homecoming activities, I got interested in Campus Programming and Relations (CPR), an organization that allows students to prepare and organize educational programs at UWP. CPR brings different talents to campus providing a multitude of activities for students to participate in. CPR also creates, organizes and manages all of the campus Homecoming activities. This is not exactly the typical job for a criminal justice major, but since I have been working here, CPR has been the highlight of my college career. I really enjoy providing input as to the events that come to campus and it is always fun to come up with new and creative ideas. CPR has been a very rewarding experience and a great way to get involved on campus.
I have been a member of Kappa Alpha Sigma since the fall of 2004. My involvement has been very beneficial to my college experience. I met some really great ladies, who have helped define who I am today. Kappa Alpha Sigma has helped me gain greater confidence in myself and has allowed me to step outside of my personal bubble. I have grown so much and I owe it all to working in the community and getting involved. Greek life is a truly life altering experience. My chapter holds each lady to very high academic standards and encourages me to continually strive to become a better student and a leader. I hope others can always look up to me for support. The most rewarding experience thus far was being the Rush c oordinator for my chapter. I helped acclimate new ladies to college life and campus involvement. I have found that it is very important to get involved in many different aspect of college life.
