Electrical Engineering is for Me

I knew I wanted to be an engineer, but I wasn't sure what type I wanted to be. Attending UW-Platteville gave me the opportunity to choose between seven different engineering disciplines. After only a semester at UW-Platteville, I had a great understanding of all of them and I knew that electrical engineering was for me. I got to know my advisor very well and he was even my professor for my first electrical engineering class.

Campus Job Brings Relationships - and Money

Having a job on campus can be a very good experience. I started working at the Mail and Duplicating Center as a computer print technician assistant my first semester at UWP. My boss is very understanding and she knows that school always comes before work. I also found that even though I only work 10 hours a week, the money I make adds up very fast. Another thing about working on campus is the relationships I have built. I have gotten to know many people on campus because of my job.

I Love the Design Labs

After attending UWP for a short time, I discovered that UWP uses a very "hands on" approach to teaching. Most of my classes have a lab experience that relates to the material taught in that class. Design labs allow you to design things that are interesting to you, and I recently designed a Traffic Light Control system for my Logic and Digital Design class. I found that designing and implementing my own design was very fun and rewarding. I learned a lot from this experience and can't wait to have more design labs.

I Wouldn't Trade My Time Here for Anything

I really don't have one favorite moment at UWP. I have found that every day brings something different and something fun and exciting. My days at UWP have all been filled with laughter, friendship and excitement. College life is great at UWP, and I wouldn't trade my time here for anything!
