Midwest Student Exchange Program
The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) is an interstate initiative established by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). It was created to increase interstate educational opportunities to students in its member states. At present, the tuition discount program includes the eight participating states of Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Students that are enrolled under MSEP are charged 150% of the in state resident tuition rate.
UW-Platteville has signed, under the UW System agreement for participation, a participation agreement with the following stipulations:
- MSEP applicants are subject to the same admission criteria as other UW-Platteville undergraduate students (new freshmen and transfer students).
- The student who applies for admission to UW-Platteville under the MSEP established guidelines must indicate this intention on the system application form.
- Enrollment in MSEP is limited to five years.
- Enrollment in the selected programs for UW-Platteville will be offered on a space-available basis.
- Minnesota residents should seek enrollment through the Minnesota/Wisconsin Reciprocity Program.
- Illinois residents should seek enrollment through the Tri-State Initiative program.
