Winter Forensic Fun!

It's winter break at UW-P and as such there are no forensic investigation labs scheduled, however this doesn't stop the fun in the criminal justice department. January 2-11, twelve students and two CJ faculty headed to Honduras to escape the winter temps of the North country in an effort to study underwater forensic investigation methods. While in Roatan, Honduras students learned underwater photography techniques, search and recovery methods, and water related death investigation. All students were either SCUBA certified (available at UWP as a phy-ed course) or were certified upon arrival in Honduras. Students were also able to take advantage of meetings with the municipal and national police forces in Honduras and receive tours of the department and jail facililies.
