Charting the Night Sky
- A study of celestial phenomena that can be observed with the naked eye. Topics will include the following: phases of the moon, configurations of the planets, apparent and mean solar time, sidereal time, celestial coordinates, horizon coordinates, altitude of the sun at noon, the date and time that a star will be crossing the celestial meridian, and the appearance of the night sky from different locations on earth. (Offered only during the summer session.)
