The University Police Office, 134 Brigham Hall, is located on the 1st floor, down the west hall, first door on your right. The office is staffed by a Police Services Associate, Monday thru Friday, 7:30AM-11:00AM and 12:00PM-4:00PM during the entire calendar year.
The office is not staffed during evenings/nights, weekends or holidays.
All 911 calls are dispatched thru the Platteville Police Department or the Grant County Sheriff’s Dept. The University Police are dispatched to all 911 calls originating on campus property.
When the University Police office is not staffed, all calls received on 342-1584 are directed to a call forwarding/voice message menu. If you are calling for general police or parking information, parking citation questions, requesting report copies, record checks or any other administrative request that does not require an immediate response, please leave a detailed message, and you will be contacted during office hours. You may bypass the voice mail message by simply pushing 1 on your phone key pad when the voice mail message begins.
Anyone requiring non-emergency assistance from the on-duty police officer should remain on the telephone or press 2 on your telephone key pad to expedite the call forwarding process. You may bypass the voice mail message by pushing 2 on your phone key pad when the voice mail message begins.
If you wish to leave a message for a specific police officer, press 3 on your telephone key pad to access the staff menu. You may bypass the voice mail message by simply 3 on your phone key paid after the voice mail message begins. (Please remember that the officers work rotating schedules, in addition to training and time off schedules, and may not return your call for several days.)
You may contact the University Police by e-mail: email@example.com. However the e-mail is answered by the Police Services Assistant, and may not be checked daily depending on days off and vacation schedules. It is strongly recommended that e-mail not be used for time sensitive requests or information sharing. It should never be used for emergencies.
