I am a historian of the Cold-War era United States, particularly the 1940s-50s.

My early scholarship focused on the interplay between domestic political rivalries and Cold War propaganda.

My latest scholarship examines the preparations of Washington, D.C.—as city, capital, and symbol—for nuclear war.
